All because someone...
wouldn't buy the f***ing wiring harness for an aftermarket cd player, they thought they would be cool and splice the wires. Well the old one worked fine, so I was putting mine in there and I was going to put in my subs and amp too. I got my cd player all hooked up and working. BUT then I hooked up my amp and all of a sudden my cd player quit working when I tried to power it up. Come to realize the number 13 fuse and socket don't work, yes even the socket. How do I know? Test Light. So I found out that it was for the cluster. So my speedometer didn't work nor did my clockwork. So my dad and I jumped the number 13 socket and the clock worked and the speedometer. But the lights on the cluster don't work. Dimmer---no, doesn't work, so all last night I either guessed how fast I was going or used my cell phone. Any ideas please?? And no blown fuses ANYWHERE.
Its hard for me to understand what you have jumped here, each individual wire? If so try dis...
Your dimmer leads will probably power the cluster. Hook the wires up the way they were originally, locate your dimmer leads and jump those. That should give you your dimmer back, along with light to your dash.
Thats odd, I have never heard of only 1 socket shorting out its usually the whole fuse box will melt all at once haha.
I would seriously consider buyinga used fuse box from the wreckers or possibly a new one.

All I did was hook up the power wires, yellow & red. Then the ground, then all the individual speaker wires then the blue one. How do I replace the fuse box?
