How many miles do you have on your car? I have and '88 and it's got 133k on it and still runs beautifully.
I change the oil every 3k and all that jazz.. keep it maintained very well.
How long will my car last without having to replace major things like the engine or tranny? Anyone got more than 200k?

the car has 92.5k on it, the engine has 3k on it, and the transmission has 15k on it. Good thing you don't own a 94-95 V6, the engines and trannys suck. Hopefully the 99+ engine and 97 transmission I have will last a little longer than the others.

Good.. thanks for mentioning that. I have been thinking of trading mine in in the future for a newer Stang. Any suggestions?

2003 Cobra That's the only car I would consider trading mine in for.
Though I also like the 96-98 Cobra's, I like the body style and the all aluminum DOHC engine, and the exhaust tone. Rims gotta go though, maybe some 95 Cobra R's, or the 03 Cobras. I don't think I'd trade my car for one though.

I LOVE my 88.. I really dont want to trade it in but I know eventually its going to crap out on me since its a good 15 years old. I like the new 2003's .. but I know I cant afford one..
I wouldn't be afraid of 133K miles at all. The 5 liter engine is very durable. Keep up your maintenance and it should last you another 133K. Most people (including myself) are pumping up their high mileage stock motors with nitrous/turbos/superchargers and don't have any problems as long as it's been cared for and detonation is controlled. The main reason I started with a 5.0 project was the motor (forged pistons, roller cam). That is an awesome combination from the factory. Hang on to what you have.
