Default Convertible window seal? HELP!!!!!!!!!!

So the window seal in between the window and the quarter window on my '00 vert is busted. I went to a shop and they took a look in the ford parts catalog and they said it comes on the quarter window so I'd need to get that replaced...but there is no effing way I'm paying $1000 for that. Anyone know of how I can get just the seal to put on? I've been calling junkyards also btw.

Depends on how busted it is.. is the rubber part just ripped or is the metal part damaged too?

Maybe you can use glue to fix up the old one..

WTF $1000 for a replacement rear side glass?? [&:]

man id be calling up some slavage yards and seeing if they have your window. i just had to replace both door windows on my car and i got them both for 85 from junk yard. its worth a try. go to car-part.com and that will hook you up with most the yards in your area and you can search their inventory to see of they have your part

It's just the rubber part, the metal underneath is still perfectly fine. I could glue it because it's all still there just ripped. Lately I just haven't been touching the window because If I don't touch it, it stays fine when I push it back the way it's supposed to be.

Thanks, that site helps a lot with finding the junk yards. =)

Another quick question, I found one from a salvage yard for $75 but it's off a '96 convertible. Will that fit? Mine is the 2000 model made earlier on in the year, with the older style interior. Because when I searched it asked if it was that older model or not and the '96 quarter window came up.

The salvage yard should be able to tell you if the window fits or not
