More dist issues? (update)
Ok, I can't seem to find my other thread to update it but, I got my motor back together after chewing up another dist gear. I went and changed the cam back to the one I ran for years until my rebuild as the cam gear had some bad teeth as well. When I fired it up, I can sit and watch the dist wobble as it idles. Could this be just simply because it's not clamped down tight or is my cam somehow not in line and this has been the issue all along? Or could this dist have a bent shaft or something? It is another new one (rebuilt).
This is my 69 351 if it makes a difference.

Thanks. Nowyou got me second guessing my work. My head is just spinning now, because that never occured to me to be a problem. I am just using the origonal thrust plate and stock gear (are you refering to the timing gear?). Now I don't know if I should drive it or tear it apart again. or maybe just sell it.
Yes these are the parts I reffer to. With the aftermarket cam and the stock parts there may be a tolerance issue. You NEED to check camshaft endplay.
One other thing, are you using a High Volume Oil Pump? If so did you set your bearing clearances loose for the H/V pump? If not, here is another possible issue. There has been proven issues with running H/V pumps and stock bearing clearances, and one of the issues is torn up distributor gears.
