Gears installed
Ive been looking at gears for my 04 gt and i am getting the 4:10's. But I read that i should trust my installer verry much because it is a very hard think to put in or somthing. Where did you guys get your gears installed at? Any famouse places like Pep Boys or somthing or any places in NJ?
yea i would find a good shop for sure when dealing with gears, i dont know what pep boys is but from what i heard they are probably like our Canadian Tire. if so i wouldnt even buy an air freshner there.
Installing gears is one of the most costly installs around because of the labor-intensive nature of the work. I've seen anywhere from 250-500.00. I just had mine installed this week for 273.00.
mine was $600 for the gears, parts, fluids, install & speed cal. the place i went to dealt ONLY with mustangs (and an occassional lightning) and knew what they were doing. he had my gears installed and calibrated in like 45 minutes. woulda been quicker if he didn't stop for about a few to talk to someone that came in with a lightning.
MM&FF magazine has lots of work done at JDM Engineering in Freehold, NJ. www.teamjdm.com
and they also do stuff at Wild Ride Race Cars in Farmingdale 732-751-1113

Definitely not Pep-Boys.

I would find a local shop that you can trust....word of mouth is always good, that's how I found my place to do my install.
mine were done at my Dealer but I only did it that way so my warranty would be protected. They were not that expensive though.......it was in Canadian dollars though so the details won;t mean anything to you.
