hey guys, so i decided that im gunna throw in a new engine in my car and me and my cousin are gunna put it together. Im starting to save for it now. but any suggestions for an already built v8 engine that i can put into my 99-04 mustang and use it as my daily driver, but also has some ***** too it. i was thinking of just getting a GT, but i want to get a sick new engine that would have 0 miles on it.

If you want to go with the modular family, www.modularmustangracing.com sells short/long blocks that are great quality. If you want high hp out of the engine though, it isnt going to come from a 2v (or even a 4v) without a power adder. If you could give a hp range or price range, it be easier to help nail you down a good combination.

so is this a v8 swap? theres more involved in a swap than just the motor.

6500 dollars. You're better off buying a GT.

i'd just try to find a low mileage mach1 or cobra motor out of a wrecked car. 275-310hp if thats crank, both of those motors surpass that plus they are much better than the 2v's.

and that motor would be well under 6.5 grand so you could either use that money for the parts needed to make your v6 capable of handling a v8, or you can use it for upgrades.

spendingmoney on making your v6 capableto handle the v8 would probably be the better idea.

well hes gonna HAVE to or the car wont go anywhere.

i said that not knowing if the 6.5 included all the supporting mods or JUST the motor.

cuz if its 6.5 for just the motor and all the drivetrain/etc mods are taken care of then he could easily get a cobra motor or better for that price. or a cheap mach motor and throw a few goodies on it.
