I dont think KB makes a superchrager for the V6 stang yet. But one place you really need to check out is www.supersixmotorsports.com and look into the heads there and the SSX splitport intake.

For that $3500 you can get the best superheads/cam they got and the intake if you haggle with them. Your power after that will go from 193hp to about 250-275 then just later on built around it. That power increase with the heads is almost as good as a supercharger and when you eventually do go with a supercharger then you will be able to make a hell of a lot more power due to the heavily ported heads, larger valves, competition conical springs, reground comp cam, super high flow intake it will just be a beast. But the intake will only be good to you if you run a snail super or a turbo setup, if you plan on going roots then forget the intake, or get it and resell it later to someone like me

With some cheap simple bolt ons matched with the superheads, cam and intake you will get 300RWHP pretty easily. The intake also comes with a larger Throttle body, a 70mm foxbody one I think.

Probably I would go....

Superheads
cam
SSX SP intake w/ 70mm
24lb injectors
Cold air intake with 80mm+ MAF
Underdrive pulley
MAC Long tube headers
BBK X-Pipe & true duals
Diablosport predator tuner

That combination will have you sitting pretty at a little over 300RWHP and you will kill the GT's stick with Mach1's and kill earlier cobra's.

Have fun ^_^

I have already talked to my insurance company and they said that if my 2000 V6 was a 2000 GT I would only have to pay $115 more a YEAR. So thats why im stuck with this problem. Because I could still pay for insurance and be ok with a GT. Also im looking at a 93 5.0 and still being able to keep my V6. By the way my 6 has, MAC duals,MAC intake,MAC headers, Motorvation U/D 25% pulley,DiabloSport Chip,BBK 70mm t/b, Powertrain Spacer...I thinks thats about it.

ORIGINAL: Dan02GT

The supercharger would just barely make you faster than a STOCK GT.

If you really want to go fast and spend your money wisely, upgrade to a GT and then slap on the blower.
Couldnt agree more Dan.

Well if I get a 00 GT It'll be a while for any major mods. If I get and older 5.0 then I'll be able to slap on some killer mods and keep my V6.

I could but I know my 2000 is reliable for getting to college. The 5.0 on the other hand may not be. I'm still looking into the 93 LX 5.0 Conv. but the car looks very nice. I'm hoping that it will come back clean on CarFax so I can pick up sometime this week.

i just got my 1993 5.0 about 5 days ago and am i happy with it i love it, My brother has a 98 gt 4.6 and even though he has a faster car then me at the moment he always wants to drive with me 5.0 wannabes! Sell the v6 get a 5.0 slap a blower on

5.0 JUST SOUNDS MEANER THEN 4.6!!!

And for your reliable promblem 5.0 last alot longer then 4.6 if you get a 5.0 with 100,000 miles you treat it good you could get atleast or more then a 100,000 more out of it!

the one i'm looking at has 181,000( about 16.5K miles a year) but it has been perfectly maintained and has been driven by an older guy since he bought it brand new. It only has had one owner. I'm goign tomorrow to try and get things finalized on it. Hopefully I be able to get some pictures up if everything goes smooth and I buy it. I'll post up then.

With those mods you would be best off with the Super six heads, you will be over 300rwhp so thats where you should put the money. Keep the V6, its reliable, sounds ok, is powerful and one hell of a sleeper.

And since when does a 5.0 sound meaner then a 4.6? I prefer the sound of a 4.6 4V over a 5.0 any day. The only time I like the sound of a 5.0 is when its heavily modded or has BOSS style heads (Cleveland style.)

But do what you want to do, I just think the V6 is the best bet, less trouble with DMV and crap, lotsa power, I mean its just better all around.

If you work on it you can get 500hp out of the motor with a super and the head/cam swap. And later on when you really want a whole lot of power then get the 4.3L stroker and make a 450rwhp NA beast or go for something more seriose like a 700hp super six engine. Hell I was going to do the 4.3L twin turbo setup estimated at 700RWHP before I got my deal on my Mach 1 engine.

Anyways have fun either way.
