i want to give my 87 gt a ignition upgrade and i was looking at a programable rpm box

i know my 87 has a rev limit of about 5500 to 6k

if i up grade to the rpm box is it safe to set it above 6k

if so whats the max rpm i can set it and will i hurt the motor to set it higher
the motors completely stock

if not possible to set it above 6k what should i get to make it possible
