I'm pretty sure I can set/disable the speed limiter on my car with my Diablosport tuner. Not sure about a 1998 though.

I disabled the speed limiter on my car with the diablo tuner. I had it up to about 135 once, but then I saw a cop. Also, since I pay about $4.20/ gallon I don't like to drive that fast.

It seems sort of odd that some of our Mustangs are limited at 120 while others are limited higher. It seems sort of randombut anyway... I've been up to 140 in mine once just to see if I could. I don't exactly condone doing things like that normally though [8D]

i see no problem with going that fast accross a desert where the only one you will hurt is yourself or a cactus. anywhere in civilization though, not a good deal.

i did 130 down main street one night.... J/k i dont have ***** that big... Honestly i have no idea how fast my car will go. Speedo gr is stripped, and the speedo guage jumps around... So far at the track i've been through the traps at 100mph (pretty much exact spd was 98.7). I have a c4 trans so i'm sure my top end sucks... And for the record fox bodies never had a governor, but a bone stock5.0 willreach way beyond 140mph, Ford only tested the top end through 4th gr w/ 2.73grs and a 5spd// not until 1994 was when the governor was established. The 1999-2004 GT's shut downin between145-150.
Chevrolet has the wierdest speed calibrations of them all. says 120 but stops at 90.
