Default Rebuild vs replace trans

Rebuild or replace the trans on a 98 Cobra. (I think it's a T-45) and why?

For me, money is the issue and performance second

How good are you at rebuilding transmissions? If you think you can handle it, you'll be better off rebuilding it.

If you're in a bind for time, replace it. You can get the whole job done in a day.

Find a used one, unless you feel like spending the cash, and going with a shift kit , all the high performence goodies, ect.

A friend of mine is in the same boat, he blew his tranny (too much HP?).
He decided to buy (new) performance internals and rebuild his rather than replace the tranny with similar components to what had blown. Although this will cost him more than getting a 'used' tranny.

Most tranny shops will "replace" your tranny with a "rebuilt" one.. what's your question?
