Default 1986 GT starting problems

I have a 1986 Mustang GT automatic with 96,000 miles on it. I have a problem with hot starting. It starts fine cold but if I drive it and then stop and do errends somewhere the enging cranks very slowly. Usually after about 3 tries it t will start.

I have had the starter replaced 3 times.

Any hints?

sounds like starter to me. I have had that problem several times, but in different cars. You may also want to try the solenoid and wires (power and ground). Possibly a keyswitch, but I dont really think it is this.

Stock exhaust system on that car?

Any heat shields missing?

Sounds like you're overheating the starter(s), probably by exhaust heat.
