I drive a 1988 5.0 but it smells bad monoxide when driving with the windows down. Actually you can finish with your eyes irritated after a long trip. Weird thing is that the engine is running good, no smoke at all, recently tuned-up. Some one knows what should i fix? some on told me that it issomething in the exhaust, is that true?

 

CO is odorless, so you're smelling general exhaust gases, which may contain some CO. Prolly has an exhaust leak.

 

With another person, run car and hold
clean rag against exhaust. Have other
person look under the car for a leak.
Probably is on muffler, or a joint clamp.

If you can smell it it is probably big.

It is also UNSAFE
