Default Cop car seats better?

Hello all,

I have heard that the mid '80s law enforcement mustangs came with heavy duty seat mounts. The ford dealer has no idea. Has anyone got info on this? My '84 gt has a cracking floorpan in the drivers seat area. It would be nice to use a ford factory part to address this issue.

Did your floorpans crack at the mounting holes (like from the seat itself cracking the floorpan), or is their just a crack in the general area?

I think most likely it cracked from frame twisting, either from a wreck the car might have been in or just from driving it hard. Subframe connectors would help a bunch in this category.

The crack is next to a rear seat bolt. The previous owner was a rotund fellow (who didn't leave the doughnuts at home). He did manage to break one recliner mechanism. Somewhere I remember reading that this area is prone to cracking.
