Trip meter reset w/ dead battery or stolen gas?

Default Trip meter reset w/ dead battery or stolen gas?

Trying to figure out if somebody helped them selfs to aprox 10 gallons of my mustangs sweet nector or if the trip meter resets when you have a dead battery?

I think someone mentioned in another thread that there is a screen in the filler neck that prevents cyphoning.

yeah, i would imagine the trip meter resets, because i know the clock and everything resets. and if they stole 10 gallons of gas, then the needle would be on about empty.

how did this happen? yeah isn't there a screen in the filler neck??

If there is a screen then the trip meter must have reset when the bettery died.

It's an easy test...

Checktrip meter has miles on it... pop off battery cable & reinstall,, check trip meter againsee if it's at0
