Cool transmission

I have a 2002 mustang GT with the stock 5 speed. I was just trying to find out the easiest way to change my transmission fluid. Thanx...

Umm...take it to a quicky-lube place? Really, not sure about the 5 speeds but, there should be a drain plug on the bottom for draining, and a plug about 1/2 way up the side for filling. When fluid comes out the top plug, it's full. I usually pull my shift boot and run a hose thru the floor to do mine. (much older 4 speed)

... or place a hose on the end of a funnel. Run the hose down from the engine compartment into the transmission.

I like Stepman's method after a trans install. If the shifter boot is off anyways.
For preventative maintenance, just use a hose and funnel.

drain it throught the plug on the bottom.. dont even bother with the fil plug on the top of the tranny its a pita. Take ur shifter out, and pour 3.25 quarts right in the tranny.

tremec is now saying that 3.50 is to much and can actually do harm.. 3.25 is what they recommend now. I read it somewhere. tho i could be wrong, but i red it.
