Default Clutch Replace

How difficult is it to replace a clutch in a 2001 GT. How long should it take .
I have never done on in a late model before I have put 5 or 6 in older Mustangs
65 to 70. Thanks

Mine is an '03 so we have slightly different trans - regardless, mine took me 2 days ha ha - including refinishing the flywheel.

Really, it was about 5 hours of actual work, but I spent about a total of 2 hours trying to figure out WTF I was doing LOL. If you know what you are doing and have a lift and REAL tools. you should be able to do it in 3 hours or so. I think the dealer quoted me 3.5 hours labor......I shoulda taken them up on it.

I put in the FRPP racing clutch kit.

I also did mine...I concur with the 5 hours. I didn't refinish the flywheel though...didn't need to. I read in my Haynes that they shouldn't be cut since they are not necessarily flat and that they should be replaced. This may have been a generic statement for flywheels that are contoured..not sure...never heard of it before. I live in the boonies and would only take it to be cut if absolutely necessary.

Replaced mine in the '96 in about 5 hours total. That's with air tools. Hand tools would have added an hour or so. Cut the flywheel. I've never heard of not cutting one....

Dealer told me 7 hours on a 95 gt, took me about 10. I had never done one before, and it was a learn as I go experience. Turned out GREAT!! Good luck!
