Arrow Tire size

Plan on buying a set of drag radials, probably go with nitto 555r, Car is my DD along side of the bike so it see's a good 2-3, maybe 4 days of driving. I would like a tire to last. Anyways, right now Ive got a set of hankook 245/45/17. Going to a drag radial should I stay the same size or bump to a 275? My car is stock now, 02 GT 5sp with magnaflow exhaust and CAI(whoopdy doo), stock gearing. Over the winter I plan on doing heads/cam/upper and lower intake/gears. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also if there are any good sites on tire sizing with gearing and horsepower that would also be great. Thanks in advance guys!

i have an 00 GT with intake and exhaust and ive got 295/35r18 toyo T1R's on the back of my car and they fit great. gives it a great look and they hook pretty damn good. i know their not drag radials but i have about 5000 miles on them and they arent showing any where and i drive pretty hard. when i have to replace them im going to a 305 but the same tire. well that my 2 cents.

Jump to 275/40, but I wouldn't suggest an R compound tire on a daily driver for most people, unless you like tossing $$ away. R compounds are softer, and will wear down much faster than a normal street tire.
