Default Cobra????

I have a 98 Cobra and im lookin to start upgrading the motor. My friend has a Cummins Turbo Diesel that ran a 12.9 1/4mile last night and i gotta take him out!!! LOL Ive had prior Stangs all 5.0s and im familiar w how they respond to upgrades but this Cobra is still new to me as far as the motor goes. All that is done currently to the car is a full on Kenny Brown Suspension. Ive been lookin at NOS and possibly a 3.73 out back in hope that maybe that all ill need to put the Dodge to rest LOL. Ne feed back on hop up that are really effective w the 96-98 motor would be a great help. Thanks everyone the next thing after the Dodge will be a 99 Lightning that my roomates pickin up this week!!!! Tim

first off: GEARS. the BIGGEST bolt-on difference. they dont add power, but, make more use of it. get that, full exhaust and some n2o if you want it. i prefer n/a or a blower/sc. but, that should have you taking out the dodge with probably a 100 shot. maybe......if not, up it to 150. its only an engine. they make more every day

If you have a cobra then gears are a nice option but but how much do you want to spend? If you spray the car then you'll pick up enough power to get you were you want to be but until you start changing out your suspention the car won't perform at the track like you want. 12.9 isn't hard to reach on juice.

careful with the nos ur gonna end up blowing a head gasket if u run too much, and one of the years of the cobra had a bad piston i think it was the front passanger side but dont remember it was around that year tho

I wouldn't worry about a head gasket. He wasn't talking about running anything major. 100 shot with gears should be enough to get him where he wants to go. I don't know about the piston thing. Never heard that. The cobra motor is a stout engine and able to handle alot.

Even a 125 shot would be safe. Make sure you get it tuned!

You dont have to tune it with a wet nitrous kit.....100 to 150 never have a problem
