Default exhaust manifold question

i have a 69 vert with a 351C with 4v heads. it has headers on it now but i am wanting to go back with the stock manifolds. my questions are... is there a difference in the 2v and 4v manifolds? are they interchangeable? will they fit inside the engine bay without modifying? and are there any suggestions on where to start looking for them?

thanks.

I would assume you NEED to get exhaust manifolds made for a Mustang in order to have them fit the engine bay properly. And, I don't think they made a 351C 2V in '69(?)

I doubt a wrecking yard would have such parts available anymore.. best bet is to check out swap meets.

I don't think they made a Cleveland 4v in 69 either.

the car was origionally a 6 cyl. the 351 was swapped into it. i just purchased the car a few days ago. i also have an 06 vert v6, well the wife does. lol. would it be best to replace the rusted out headers for new ones or go with the stock manifolds? obviously the old ones must go. i will not be taking the car to the track... i want to drive it and enjoy it for what it is, a classic.

why do you want to find manifolds for it? do you know what year car the engine is out of?

dont know the year of the motor... i need to dig around a little more to find out. less maintance on manifolds but may end up with headers again.

Like I said, a swap meet would be the best place to find original factory exhaust manifolds. Or, new aftermarket headers. The headers might actually be cheaper depending on how rare factory manifolds are.
