Default Whats the difference between a.....

I have a 69 stang but the casting numbers on the engine say its from a 1974 ford falcon. The engine in both cases is a 302 but i want to know when ordering parts, do I order as a 69 stang 302?

For example i need the following: water pump ( next to the model number on the site im ordering, its says 302 but says 65/69 mustang

and with the exhaust manifolds, it says 302 but next to it reads 65/69

not sure what the **** to order???? anyone know???

Are you sure about that part number? I think the '74 falcon was only available in Australia.

Some parts will be unique to the engine - oil pan, intake manifold. But some parts will be unique to the chassis - water pump, exhaust manifolds. It all depends onm the part you need.

most of the parts will fit it but like he said some parts will be unique to the chassis. not much changed throughout the years for the 302

Those parts will fit pretty much any 302 engine. But they are unique to the chassis. For example, some cars have the water pump inlet on the left, and some on the right.

For those parts, don't worry about the year of the block, pick the right ones for your chassis.
