Default Center Console Removal Please Help!

I have a 2002 mustang GT with manual trans. I have removed the shifter boot and unbolted the center console from all 4 points, and unplugged all the wiring connectors. I can not for the life of me figure out how to get the console to out though! The emergency brake is preventing me from removing the center console because I can not find an angle that will allow me to slide the e-brake out from the boot. I have pushed and pulled and ended up cracking a piece of the damn plastic trying to find a way to slide the console out, but to no avail. How do I get this thing out?

pull the ebrake up as far as you possibly can, straight up if you can get it. then push the whole console forward a little while lifting the back and the front part should drop down and the back part will come all the way up and over the brake handle.

The brake doesn't go up far enough.. that's the problem I'm having. The furthest it will go up is about 45 degrees.

Update: I got fed up and cut a slit down the center of the boot with a razor. Problem solved. I'll just use fishing line to sew it back up later. If I knew it was going to be this big of a pain I would have thought twice about doing this.
