Default Center caps falling off

Has anybody else had a problem with the center caps on their wheels falling off. It happened on one of my stock wheels and then again on one of my 17" Bullitts I've only had for 4 months. I'm getting kind of pissed. I do live in Michigan where there are a lot of bumpy roads. I don't know if that would have anything to do with it.

Any idea what is causing this and how can I prevent it from happening in the future?

Never really had this problem myself..But you could take a little bit of clear silicon and put it around the inside edge and then install the center cap.

I fully agree. RTV will work fine and it CAN be removed later if desired. John--Las Vegas.

It happened to me when I purchased new center caps for my wheels, however my rims are not standard size, so the center capds were loose and a couple fell off. I went ahead and put a thin layer of hockey tape around the edges of the center caps and used a hammer and cardboard to soften the blow. So far they are snug tight and have not fallen off!
You can use other tape as a substitute.

I hope this helps.

rtv works fine but first maybe just try and take the ring out from the back of the center cap and spread it open further to get higher tension while in the rim
