what engine to get?
Should be simple enough, Your can get a stock 5.0 engine for like 300 bucks and tranny for about 200-300, im not to sure about the mounts or engine space but if a 5.0 can fit in a Fox it can sure fit in urs.
Let me know how it goes.
Let me know how it goes.
I dont think hes looking to spend 1800 on a crank and sh*t for a stroker why does everyone say that when someone says there looking for a 300 motor? there is machine work that has to be done to put the crank in the block! Its not that simple to do a stroker motor.A good used t-5 which you will need will cost ya 500 and yes the 5.0 will bolt right in with no problems the car is exactly the same as a 5.0
Before you just go mix-matching parts you need to do a little research on your car because you will be SOL and very upset when your **** wears out really fast for some reson.
I have a 95 232 as well and I am doing a 2003 Mach1 swapout right now. I bought the whole shibang, everything I needed (Minus driveshaft and rear end) for $3200 bux. That is what you should concider doing if you want a ****load more power. I bought it from GreenLeaf and I can give you the number if you want. The guy to talk to is Art. Everything bolts right in and its no prob at all. With the changeover you also get the new crossmember with full suspension minus rotors and callapers, leaves some room for improvment. If your in california then there is legal bull**** that you have to go through but in the end you 1995 V6 mustang then gets registered as a 2003 Mach1, Its pretty cool. Being that my car will be a custome I have to have it appraised for insurance as well.
Now if your going the 5.0 way then you need to realize that you have to be vehicle specific with our year cars. 94/95 are different then 79-93 and different from 96-98. The engine has different mounting and shaft tollerances. The input shaft on the tranny is 3/8ths inch longer and the engine managment is different then a 93. You need to find a wreck 94/95 Mustang and do the complete swap out with all electrical and EVERYTHING or you will be peicing your project together for months.
Now if you want to go to a 4.6L GT then you can do that too, you need to once again get the whole swap out, dont mix N match parts, it will be quicker to buy it from a totaled car. 94-2004 drivetrains are all fair game for the swapover so anything you like in that era then go for it
Now things that arent included in the swap out that you will need to get are...
*The Full cooling system with equivolent or better radiator.
*Motor Mounts are usually included but it is better to get new Polyeurathanes.
*Transmission mounts
*Transmission crossmember
*Driveshaft
*Rear-end needs to be upgraded
*Guage pod from the car that the swapout came from or equivolant
Thats about it if I can recall correctly. Just make sure you get all the electrical, from engine harness to the ECU. its important.
Good luck with your engine swap.

If your not interested in swapping for a V8 anymore or just arent sure then you should check out these people to beef up your 232 www.supersixperformance.com A full out race 4.3L stroker was going to run me $5000 dollars and was good for 800hp with the right power adders.
