Default Project: RMR Fox

Well I have sold my 87 Hatchback to my uncle so I can attempt to find a convertible fox for a different, more time consuming project. I am going to take an 87-93 style fox convertible and turn it into a two seater glass top mid-engine roadster w/my 347 small block and the new Mendeola SDR transaxle awaiting release. My biggest roadblock at the moment is the rear suspension. I'm not sure if putting the shocks/springs in the stock location is the best route or rigging up a cantilever suspension which would require a different decklid setup than what I was going to use with the stock location setup. Any tech info on suspensions for a mid engine car would be extremly helpful. I'm still drawing out plans so I can have it just right before I start in which won't be til after I pay off the 99. Thanks!

Here's an idea of what it should look like. Mine will vary a little. This is a sketch done by Steve Stanford in the June 08 issue of Hot Rod magazine. No one's done it yet, so I'm gonna give it a shot.

If you get this mod done it will be impressive and you should open your own business.

Thanks. I dont know about my own business. I just hope I can do it. The mounting and suspension are my main focus at the moment. If I can get those done without a major hangup then all else should be fine. I''m also gonna have the decklid made of fiberglass and choppin the windsheid down about an inch with a removable glass top.
