Just got a 95 gt and no onwers manual yet. there is a little red dome that looks like it has an LED in it. its to the left of the shifter in front of the ashtray.Not sure what it does. Hasnt turned on yet. does anyone know?

 

is it a light that comes on when you plug in a phone charger or anything like that?

 

^^^ Nope. it never goes on, ive tried everything to turn it on, nothing. Just a little red dome in a weird location.

 

maybe its an alarm system light. do you have one.

I don't think it is a factory install. It's probably something someone added.

im tellin you that has got to be something for an aftermarket alarm. maybe you dont have an alarm anymore but i got that in my 92 stang and i dont have an alarm. previous owner took it out and left that lite. thats the let you know or a car thief that the car has an alarm and that its set. i may be wrong but im almost possitive it has to do with an anti theft system

 

i have a 1995 mustang GT and that light is not stock. it is aftermarket. probably an alarm like everyone has been saying. open ur hood and look for like a siren screwed on to the fenderwell. if you cannot see one then that means there isn't an alarm anymore. i bet they took it out before selling car. but you cannot take out light because there would be a hole and would decrease the value.
