hmm, should be an allen key screw on the top of the mount. if not that it is just glued....a good old yank will fix that[8D]
well at least that is how all the mirrors i have seen are.
but you will still have to pull something off to get the mount off the wildow if it is hooked by the allen key set-up.

I agree..there is usually a small set screw that is loosened so that it will slide off of the mount. Don't try to tug it off the windshield. The mounts are installed when the glass is made and is held on with a very strong glue/epoxy. You can crack the glass by pulling it off.

what if you took a blow torche and heated up the outside/front of windshield...would that heat liquidfie the glue and ease off the mirror, or would it wreck the glass?

I have had two rearview mirrors fall off of cars on me on very hot days. One was in an old jeep and one on my mustang. They were sitting in the sun with the windows up and that is all it took. Just dont get the glass so hot you crack it that way.

There is a small screw holding the mirror on but there is also a "base" that is glued to the windshield. In most cases, it will not come off without damaging the glass. You could try a heat gun but keep the torch off your windshield or odds are it WILL crack.

One quick smack and the glue will come off the windshield.my buddy owns a glass company and he does it all the time.To get the mirror off theres a set screw and then it slides up or if you want it all off u leave the mirror on and smack it to the side quick and it will come off.
