STUPID TIRE SHOP!!!!!
so i went to Discount Tire yesterday, to get 2 new tires. so i get some BF goodrich radials. they are nice and everything and they put them on and stuff. well after about 20 mins, the guy comes and says okay here you go everything is good except....He shows me one of the lug nuts with the piece of the screw that goes on to the brake and says "ummmm ya..." i looked at him with a blank face and just left.
but my dad goes back with me, and we demand compensation for it, but they give us BS like, oh its 43 years old blah blah blah, its your fault blah blah blah. but my dad was pissed and threatened to go to the beaure of better business. they finally give us want we want and say, just go here, and we will take care of everything. they gave us a business card for a alignment/suspension shop.
how do they fix something like that?

Was it on the front or rear hub?
The studs just press in, you can bang out the old one with a hammer, and then use a lug nut and a bunch of spacers to pull the new one in... Its not the end of the world.

Discout tire has always been good to me, but I could honestly only blame them if they broke it INSTALLING the tires, not removing them.
Just a word to the wise, anytime you remove your wheels, lightly coat the studs with some high quality anti-sieze, and the area of the hub that the face of the wheel contacts.
It will make things much easier on you.

I snap studs all the time tq'ing wheels on in a hurry. They bang out and press in.
If it was all rusted out, it should be replaced. It's not fun sheering wheel studs on the road and having a wheel come off going down the highway.

When you have a car thats 40+ years old your bound to have stupid problems. It's not their fualt really, just old age. I've had similar problems with my 69 chevy pickup molre often then you would think....lol
A wheel nut will not seize onto a stud or wheel if torqued on properly. It may be a bit tight if it was a nut with exposed threads, driven in the salt for 10 years with no cover. Otherwise, torque it down to about 100ft/lbs dry and any decent impact will remove it later.
