Got a wierd problem
I have a 2004 manual v6, car runs perfect shifts perfect. But at around 1500 rpms the clutch pedal will vibrate sometimes hard. I thought maybe it was the pressure plate or something wrong with the clutch but even when its in neutral and you rev it up to 1500 it will vibrate, and like i said it shifts pefect through the gears. What the hell is wrong? appreciate the help
I had a similiar problem on my 86. I thought the trans was going (input shaft vibration, so I thought) and that I'd just wait til it blew. Then one day I heard a serious slam clunk and no more vibe.
When I popped the hood, there was my fan laying under the car (this happened in my driveway). I got a new fan clutch unit and reattached the fan. No more vibration.
Similarities: Vibration at certain rpms, shook the clutch pedal (I attribute this to the engine being mounted on rubber (damping effect) and the heaviest piece of metal on the car going directly to the body from the powertrain is the clutch cable.
So, check your fan clutch. If you have an electric fan, ignore me.
