Default V-6 to 351W

My son has a 1996 that came with a V-6. Blew the engine a year ago. We have installed a 1988 351W with a crab. Car is running again and home. We have a couple of issues we are still trying to work out. Kick-down linkage from the crab to the 88 Auto transmission, Dip stick, cannot find one that will fit (Engine is from a van) Junk yards not willing to sell just a dip stick around here. All the factory gauges work except the tach and speedo. Any ideas?
Car sounds good and runs fast.

Computer still in the car and used for the temp, oil pressure and other misc. functions. Computer will give DEQ the correct readings.
