Default new clutch making noise! please HELP!!!

I just put a new F1 racing stage 1 clutch in my 98 cobra. After I installed it I get a squeaking noise when I press the clutch down to put it in gear. It happens everytime I press the clutch in to shift. Can't really hear it at higher speeds but definately at low speeds. No noise when the clutch is depressed only when I press it and it quickly stops squeaking in about 2 or 3 seconds when it is held down. Could it be that its a new clutch and it needs too be broken in still? Only been maybe 100 miles. Please help.

it might be the throw-out bearing you could be hearing grinding...some metal on metal.

Thanks for the reply. It does sound like metal on metal grinding. But what could be wrong with the throw out bearing if its brand new? Any ideas on how to fix it?

its whatever throw out bearing that came with the clutch kit which is an F1 Racing Stage 1 Clutch kit. A friend of mine helped me install it and he used to work at shop for 11 years doing clutchs and trannys so i think he did it correctly. If the car is rolling and in gear and the clutch is pressed in it will make the grinding noise very loudly but if i put in neutral with the clutch pressed and the car is rolling there is no noise. Could it be the clutch cable or adjuster cable?

not necessarily i just got my clutch replaced...because of the noice you might be hearing. as soon as i heard it i knew it was the throw out bearing it wounds almost like a whistleand you can feel the grinding....when you push in your clutch is it smooth or rough?

The cable or throwout bearing would not care if the car is in or out of gear. It may be the transmission.
