Default Fuel Filter

I went to the Ford dealership yesterday and they want $26 for a new Fuel filter for my car. Does anyone know the parts number for a 2007 Mustang V6 4.0 Fuel Filter? I have a sneaking suspicion I can order on online somewhere for a lot cheaper then that...

Sure , you could probably find it cheaper, but would it be a good filter that you could run down and put in your hands right now? Key words being good and now....What's $26?

I'm sure you can also find them on eBay for pretty cheap,, it's your judgement whether or not the cheaper aftermarket ones will do as good a job as a factory filter. Is Ford investing the extra $'s they charge towards making a better filter, or just stuffing the extra $'s into their pocket for extra profit? Ask 2 guys this question and you will get 2 different answers.

Thats exactly what I thought GretyStang. I thought eBay would be half the cost (and I've gotta check it still). I'm willing to take the wait in order to save the money heh!

Does anyone know of a guide on how to change the fuel filter in my car? Is it simple? I've never done it...

complain about the price and bargain him down. i do it everytime at my dealer's parts counter and it surprisingly works most of the time.

if he doesnt want to bargain then oh well....it was worth a try.

EDIT: if theyre not going to be making money on the labor, then theyre going to try and make it through the inflated price of the part.
