Default Open and Clost Headers

Hey all, I'm picking up my new/old muscle car in 4 days. The engine was just rebuilt 10,000km's ago and everything sounds nice. However I was talking with my Father In-law and he told me that he's seen people who have had a switch in there vehicle that would make the headers opened and switch it again to go back to closed. I do believe him however I have not yet been able to find proof. Noone else I know has heard of them however there not car fans either. Were would I go about buying these, and how hard are they to install? Is it worth it? Will problems occur later on!
Hope theres some answers!
Thanks a lot,
Kswood.
