Default weird breaking problem

im fixing a friends car but i've never had this kind of issue before. its a 1996 cavi 4cyl.

anyways when you step on the breaks hard enough to where the back breaks begin to engage the car squats extremely hard in the rear end. almost like a dog when he reaches the end of his leash, just drags the rear down. i inspected the rear end, linkage, break lines, bled the breaks....

i guess i dont know what else would cause this or what to look for. anyone heard of this or any suggestions?

Sounds like the fronts not working. Push down on the pedal (like bleeding) and crack the line (for the front brakes) coming off the combination valve. If you don't get much fluid to come out, do the same thing where the line comes out of the master cyl.

...if you get no pressure out of the combo, but you do from the master, the combo is bad

if you get no pressure from master....it's bad.

if you break less than 50%(not really sure how you describe it) but to where the front should only be working it stops just fine. but an any semi emergency breaking where you have to push the pedal down hard is when it dips really hard. i just to cover my bases i did bleed MC first and then all break lines. all seem to have great pressure.(as soon as i crack them open fluid shoots out) and the resovior is full....faulty break cylinder in the rear? maybe faulty caliper maybe?

i've never came across it yet in all the side work ive done, especially with doing break jobs/break systems which seems to be really common. but yes, you step on the break hard enough to where the rears engage and the rear feels like its being pull out from underneith the car.

Sounds like a suspension problem to me. Not a brake problem.

The squatting is coming from when the rear brakes twisting the rear control arm downwards. This pulls the body downwards.

As for this happending on a Calvalier, yes it is a common problem.

Friends Sunfire started doing this right after a brake job. I can't remember is loosening or tightening the rear brakes solved it.
