Default Need good brake pads.........

I have used Carbon Metallic pads from Pep Boys on my old Caprice and it was night and day difference in stopping and it got rid of the brake fade. That has been a few years back. I want to find a good pad that stops really well without brake fade, but I dont want a lot of squeaking or brake dust. Anyone have good experience with any certain types or brands? I thought that a ceramic was a good race pad but was actually more ineffective on street driving because unless they were heated up you would typically be worse off. Is this correct?? Thanks!

Hawk, EBC or call Steeda. They offer a special pad that is supposed to greatly increase your stopping performance without having to change calipers or rotors. EBC's are Kelvar and do not produce hardly any dust whatsoever. Peps Boys now carries the EBC line of pads and rotors. I have EBC pads (green snot) on all four wheels and the slotted/dimpled rotors on the front. Only drawback with Kelvar is they take a little longer to become fully seated.

I am going to invest in the slotted rotors, stainless steel brake lines, and maybe new calipers as well, but I just need a good pad for the street. Thanks!
