yesterday I went and looked at a 2000 mustang gt and was looking it over the body was clean no dents but when when i went to start it and went to put the car in neutral the transmission felt real stiff and it felt like there was bearly any while in neutral. what could be the cause of this i never felt a manual trans like that before. oh and the salesmen told me the previous owner just replaced the cluth because it seemed a little stiff but i thought that would just make the clutch pedal stiff.

 

no body can help me out here? i want to buy this car just not if the tranny is going to go.

 

Sometimes if a 5-speed sits, it can be a little stiff, my suggestion is to ask for a test drive and see what the gears feel like going down the road, if you still think there is something wrong, then walk away because it will end up being more trouble than it is worth.
