working on 2000 mustang, need HELP!
hey guys, brand new to the forum, i am trying to get my sons 2000 v6 3.8l mustang running. this car sat for almost two years, we drug it home. it ran when it was parked several years ago. it turns over nicely, but no fire at all. i pulled the fuel line off near the engine and turned on the key, no fuel whatsoever. what should i look for now? does this mean fuel pump is shot? perhaps a relay or fuse? any help would be very much appreciated as i know nothing about late model cars. (i'm old school mechanic, and restore 60's and 70's muscle cars)
this car belonged to my oldest son, and he passed away a couple of years ago, now my youngest son and i are trying to get it back on the road in his memory. thanks in advance. rick

no, we can't hear the fuel pump at all when the key is turned on, and we don't have fuel to the engine. we now believe that the fuel pump relay is bad, but cannot find the location of it to change it. does anyone know where the fuel pump relay is on a 2000 3.8l mustang????? thanks, rick
yeah! good idea! in fact, lets ALL buy a repair manual, and then we could just shut this site, down, we wouldn't need it, or at least the tech portion of it........btw, i BOUGHT a haynes manual for the car, and nowhere does it give the location of a fuel pump relay. the closest that it comes it giving the location of the CCRM on the 5.0L models....thanks anyway though.
Agreed with that dumbass post. Buy a repair manual. lol.
You might want to ask this question again in the v6 section. I'm sure someone can help you there.
I'm not a big mechanic I just learn as I go and try to ask as many questions as I can, but can't you just trace the line down?
