Default Timing

Could someone please explain timing for me. I have heard some people talking about how they have taken theirs up to 12 or 14 from 10 but i dont know what any of that means, please specify.

Just means it idles at a higher rpm...



Mine idles at around 8 ....... *shrug*

Default Timing

Actually, timing is when the ignition/spark plug fires in relation to the piston position in it's stroke. 10* means that the spark plug fires 10* after the piston has reached top dead center and has started back down. I'm not totally sure how they measure the degree increments in relation to the piston, but I think it's by the crankshaft.

Well i dont actually have one of my own yet i'm just trying to read up on them so that i know what i'm doin when i get one.

I'm just 15 right now but i'm getin my licennse soon.
