I took my head off to put new set on and the valves and the rest of the combustion chamber were a rust color and had a hard deposite on them. It was on both sides and there was no indications of a blown head gasket. My Dad said it may have been something in the fuel i have been using. any ideas? and do i need to change the pushrods if i have 1.6 ratio roller rockers on world products windsor jr iron heads?

 

Try to post a picture of the "rust" that you are seeing.

And yes, you will need to measure for proper pushrod length.
