Exclamation Serious Vibrations in Car

Hi guys, I tried searching for this in the forum but to no avail so I'm sorry if this has been posted before.

Here's what I have:
2003 Mustang Convertible V6
74k miles

This weekend, I was driving from San Diego to Los Angeles on the freeway when I noticed my car was shaking more than usual. However, on the first half of the trip (San Diego to Irvine), the car was fine, but sometime during the second half of the trip (Irvine to Los Angeles), the car began developing very strong vibrations on the freeway. It was so bad that I could barely look at my rearview mirror without feeling dizzy.

I made it back to Los Angeles and checked my car, but there appeared to be no exterior signs for the occurance.

Here are some other important things to note:
- On flat surfaces, the car will vibrate as though it were on a bumpy road.
- At low speeds, the car will have a rhythmic bump, changing depending on speed. This leads me to believe that there is something in one of the tires that is causing the problem, but I have read in other places that it may be the driveshaft?
- All tires are properly inflated and the wear pattern looks normal.
- Ever since I got it (69k miles), the car has always pulled slightly to the left.
- I did not run over anything large (or large enough to notice).
- It seemed that the entire problem started within quite a short timespan (I'd estimate within 5-20 minutes), but I did not notice it immediately since the freeways around LA are quite bumpy to begin with.

If anyone has any recommendations or needs more information to diagnose the possible problem, please let me know. The shaking is VERY scary at freeway speeds!

Thanks!

Check your ball joints, tie rods and you can also check your u-joints on your driveshaft while your at it.

Very possible that you hit a bump that broke one of the belts in the front left tire. My wife did that with her car in December, and the symptoms were exactly what you describe.

How much do you estimate it is to fix this? My budget is tight

When's the last time you locked up your tires? Could have a flat spot.

The price is a new (or newer used) set of tires for the front. You shouldn't mix different tread designs or number of miles on tires, at least in the front.
