Default Occasional Thump?

I have a 2009 GT with less than 2000 miles on it. Today on my way home from work I heard a thump that sounded like it came from under the car. I thought that I had ran over something or hit something, so I stopped and looked. The road was freshly paved so no pot holes and there was also no dead animal laying in the road. The best way I can describe the sound is like hitting a bird with your vehicle. At this point I dismissed the sound, but I was wrong to do so. The car has made this same thump 3 other times this evening. I don't know if this is something that is normal or some minor problem anyone else with an 05 to 09 GT with this problem?

Maybe you just ran over the reflectors on the yellow lines.

Still under warranty? Take it to the shop.

Nope not a reflector the road did not even have lines yet. Took my car to the shop and we were not able to duplicate the issue. So for now I will not worry about it. If the problem reoccurs then I may have an issue.

Nope it don't sound "normal".. Can you FEEL anything when it happens, or just hear the sound?

Is this sound random or have you noticed a pattern? Like it happens right after I shift into 3rd or when you lift and then get back on it? Anything or is it just a random thump? I would say it isn't normal either, but it helps if you can identify when it happens or what possible conditions set it off so that it is easier for a tech to duplicate it. Also, see if it doesn't pick up frequency, such as you hear it once today, twice tomorrow, and by the end of the week it is happening multiple times a day.

I have a 2009 GT. It thumps and bumps EVERYTIME I shift into ANY gear, even while sitting still. It doesn't sound normal at all. It has been doing it from day 1, and I now have 3500 miles on the car. It has gotten noticeably more consistent and louder. Does this sound like your problem OP? Anyone have a clue what this could be?

No, I cannot feel anything when the bump/thump occurs. It is a very random occurance, although it hasn't done it again in the past couple of days. I have been attempting to find the cause of it myself with no luck. A/C on a/c off, speed shifting, double clutching, normal shifting, hard acceleration, normal acceleration. No way to duplicate. The car was being driven in a sane and normal manner when the bump occured but I cannot get the car to duplicate it again. When it does it, it has always been a single thump/bump
