Mufflers

Yikes, you're asking such a broad question.
Exhaust choices are dependent on several factors: 1) the overall purpose (race, street/strip, daily use), 2) driver noise level preference and 3) amount of money you want to spend.
Typically, full length headers, a 2.5" dual exhaust with a h-pipe and two perforated tube style mufflers will sound very nice; and flow well enough for the AVERAGE street small-block engine.
Some of the exhaust companies that I like are Walker (inc. Dynomax and Thrush), Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Borla, Corsa, Cherry Bomb and Pypes- not necessarily in that order.

It is good stuff, their LM1's are awesome just as a cat-back, but once you really get into the exhaust, LM2's are the only way to go, believe me. LM1's with an o/r pipe will make your ears bleed and it isn't even pleasing to listen to.
OP, I suggest hitting up youtube and searching for different exhaust setups if you are just looking for sound. If you want performance too, then tell us what you are looking for out of it.
