TCS confusion
I just brought my new Pony home last week...it's my first Mustang so I have quite a bit to learn. One of them is how in the heck does the traction control system work???
After paging thru the owner's manual, I can't tell if the TCS is on or off! On one page it says the TCS is off if the little light illuminates and says "OFF". Then on another page it says the TCS is off if it isn't illuminated. Which is it?
Will it hurt anything if I turn it on or off? I'm afraid to touch anything because well, y'know...

TC is OFF if the little light on the console is ON.
If TC is ON and you spin your rear wheels a little green indicator light on the dash turn on to tell you the TC has been engaged. When activiated it applies rear brake and retards the ignition timing to reduce engine horsepower.
no harm leaving it ON or OFF

If you leave it off you need to actually know how to drive. If you drive with it off take it easy and get used to the car. Fortunately it's a V6 so you can't get into trouble as easily as you can with a GT.
