I picked up a 1997 cobra a little while back, it had a steeda tri ax which was broken and it felt miss aligned and it would pop out of some gears. Today a pro 5.0 shifter was installed and every gear shifts perfect exept still pops out of 2nd when downshifting, but not as much as it did with the old shifter. There still is a huge improvement. downshifting now works 90% of the time instead of 10% so since there is improvement, could the shifter use a little more adjustmant or is there a problem with my tranny.

Unless your stops are so far in. The shifter has nothing to do with holding a car in gear. Your transmission needs work.

Just to take the shifter out of this equation, back the stops all the way off.
