Question Convertible/creaking question...

Hello all, I'm relatively new to forums, so if I do something out of line, I apologize in advance.

That being said, I am Jesse and I drive a 2001 GT convertible. It's completely stock except for a CAI, SLP Loudmouth II catback and a few cosmetic mods. Every time I accelerate from a stop, I hear a creaking sound emanating from what sounds like the right rear side of the car (it could be coming from both sides evenly, but I hear it mostly from the right side possibly due to sitting in the driver seat). It sounds like it's in response to the slight twisting of the chassis or the downward force on the rear shocks from acceleration. It's been going on for a while now, and I never thought it could be harmful so I haven't really cared about getting it fixed. It is now starting to drive me crazy and I would like to find the cause so I can create a solution.

My question is this:

Has any other convertible owners had the same issue and did you find out what was the cause? I'm not sure how I could find out what's causing the sound if I can only duplicate it on acceleration. I'm also not very car savvy...

Any help is appreciated.

- Jesse

No it doesn't sound like a common problem.. I think one of your suspension bushings is worn out.
