That bogging is just your torque converter locking up, its normal. The rough idle is the nature of it too. Honestly though, you bought the slower of the 4.6 New Edge Mustangs. The automatic GT falls short of the manual in acceleration. Start modding it and you should be happier with it. If you really want to make it move, get some 4.10 gears.

Great help, SkittlesDatKill..

When you punch it does a lot of dark 'smoke' come out of the exhaust? The engine could be all carboned up from the previous owner lugging it too much.

You should probably get the injectors cleaned that'll help a LOT. Not just a jug of stuff that goes into the gas tank but a real injector clean at a garage,. usually cost around $50-70

get a tuner so you can set the shift points and firmness and turn off the torque modulator! that helps a lot!

Skillz, keep that crap out of the tech sections. We let you slide in S&S, but keep that crap up in here and you are gone.

Before you do any "tuning" or "gear swapping" you need to put a clear definition to poor acceleration.

If it's running so poorly that it shakes at idle and accelerates like a 17 second minivan. Do not apply any of those suggestions.

I'd start with a full tune up, especially if you just bought the car. If it's still no good. Have the codes read.
