Default Need ECU Help

hey guys, i need some help here. a buddy of mine dropped a 5.0L into a Volvo wagon and we need an ECU for it (auto, btw). we know that a 91 ecu will work but there has to be other years that work as well we just dont know what they are. if it helps any it runs a mass air flow sensor and has an O2 sensor, the place that sold him the swap hosed him over big time. he was supposed to get a 5.0 HO swap complete. instead he got a 5.0L with the HO intake, a wiring harness for a 91 and a computer that doesnt read either the MAF or the O2 sensors cause its the wrong one. im hoping that you can help us out. educate me a bit please. im into VW's so i dont know ford stuff too well. also if anyone has something for sale that will work please let me know.

thanks for your time,

ok further questions. my friend has told me that in 91 they changed some of the pins around on the ecu. is this true, if so does this mean that a 91 or newer ecu is needed.
