Default installing shoulder harness in 65 convertable

Hi,
I need to make my 65 convertable safer. My lap seat belts don't get it. I see that there are shoulder belts available. Are they easy to install for a person that is fairly mechanically inclined?
Thx, Walt

Default RE: installing shoulder harness in 65 convertable

65's never came with shoulder belts did they"

My first Stang was a '71. It had a regular lap belt with a belt retractor, and did have a shoulder belt that was looped into a holder in the roof. "If" you wanted to use it you would unloop it & clip it to the lap belt end. There was no automatic retractor, so was REAL UNCOMFORTABLE! I tried it once & never used it again
