ok here's the deal. ive got an 1988 ssp coupe 302 5 spd. speedometer wasnt working correctly so i went to purchase a new. they didnt have a listing for a 5spd w.o cruise but had a listing for a 4 spd w.o-which dosent make since seeing how they didnt use a 4spd in the 88's-so i went with the 4spd thinking they had the listing wrong-well the end that hooks up to the speedo was bigger-the alumn. hollow shaft on the cable was to long-so i trimmed it down- now it fits just not very snug-the speedo works but jumps when moving slow and smooths out once you get bout 20--and when you go to slow down the speedo needle drops and dosent come back up---so i guess im asking to questions? is there something else i can do to the current cable ive installed or do you know which cable i should order to be a direct fit??? ny help would be great
