04 or 01 gt speed limiter
I have both a 2004 mustang gt convertible and a 2001 gt coupe do either of these have a speed limiter on them and if so what? I'm just wondering cuz a guy at a ford dealership told him there was no speed limiter. I also have a question about red line. What can increase the number of rpm's it will take for the engine to redline? Thanks

a tuner can remove or change the speed limiter but the rpms i dont think thats can be changed by much.

well yea i know they both have rev limiters (clued in by red color around 5300 rpms 
) i mean a top out speed...the red lining question was completely seperate and came to mind while typing the original question.

To increase red line u could get a Ford Racing ECU or a similar device. CHips just take off top speed and over work your engine but i think the ecu might have a program to change the redline. I'd look into that b4 i bought one though cause they cost a good bit but if you knew someone that knew A LOT about that kind of stuff he might be able to tell u a ceap way to do it.

from what ive heard...automatics have a speed governor...but manuals dont. i had an 01 automatic v6...governed at 115. right now i have a manual 03 gt...and i can tell you that it is definitely not governed at 129. ive been 135 or maybe slightly over that.

your speed limiter depends on the size of your tire. You will have to look it up. Im not sure about the whole Automatic/Manual thing but i do know its based off of the size of the tire. I havent hit mine yet but i havent gone faster than 120 because i honestly dont see the need to. But i definitely read somewhere that its either 129 or like 133ish something like that.
