Exclamation '06 GT Computer Problem?

Hey fellas/ladies, new to the site, first post, hope its in the right place.

Disclaimer: I'm not the most informed on cars, so please forgive me. Thanks. [:

Well, I recently got in a wreck with my GT around a blind corner; got T-Boned in a 30mph speed zone that hit hard enough in my driver side door and rear quarter panel that it snapped my rear axle. After I got all of this fixed, I started noticing that my car was acting quite peculiar.

First, when I rolled my window up, it would roll itself half way back down. I got this fixed and was told it was a computer problem. Alas, the dreaded window is back. Problems occurring now include:
a) door locks auto lock/unlock while driving
b) delayed gas petal
c) gas petal won't respond until roughly 2500 rpms then the car lunges due to the high rpms catching
d) the engine light will come on and when I press the gas it feels as if the car upshifts rather than downshifts ( my rpms will stick at 1.5 and jump to 2.3ish but loss in torque)
e) after any of the above occurs, it usually ends in my car just turning off as if I had turned the key (including power steering- not fun when still moving)

**This only happens 1 in 10 times I drive and is usually fine if I stop, turn off car, and re-crank. Sometimes it takes 3 re-cranks but it will usually resolve itself)**

I'm not sure how else to describe the 'symptoms,' but any information would be wonderful. I'm probably going to take it to the dealer tomorrow.

It seems like the accident might damaged some of the electrical wires since most of your problems seems electrical related.

Yeah, electrical/computer related. Did they replace the ECU since the accident?

No, they haven't replaced my ECU yet. Where exactly is it located? I could tell you if that area got damaged directly. About how much would the computer cost? I'm new to the mustang crew and haven't had to repair any as of yet some I'm a hair clueless.

I figured it was the computer, as you both agreed, since it was mostly electrical problems. I'm just glad to hear that I have informed and educated agreements. Haha. Thank you very much; I'll go get that fixed shortly.

The ECU is right behind the passenger side kick panel. It depends on where you buy them. Brand new ECU from the dealer can be about $300 and up. Used one is about $70. Try Ebay if you got the time and you can find a deal.

Before buying one, let the dealer or someone verify it's the ECU first, so you won't waste time and money buying something you don't need.

Yeah, it could be the ECU is damaged just from being jarred by the impact. It could be a loose harness someplace too.

Ah, well thank ya very much for the info. Yeah, I got hit on the driver side, but it kicked my rear end around and into an embankment on other other side. Luckily, there was no body damage at all on the passenger side apart from a scratch on the rim of the back tire. But the impact of that could have done it.

I'm not quite comfortable with working on my car; always afraid that I'm going to screw it up. Nice mustangs aren't cars to learn how to work on first (for me at least) so I'll prob have the dealer fix it, assuming they confirm that is the problem.

Many many thanks for the information. I am quite happy that this community answers promptly and is helpful.

PS: What about these harnesses? Just trying to prep an educated explanation to the dealers or my local shop is all.
